Elementary students will learn about coding, artificial intelligence and skilled trades careers under a new science curriculum for Grades 1 to 8 being introduced this fall — updating the 15-year-old lessons now being taught in classrooms across the province.
Education Minister Stephen Lecce made the announcement Tuesday morning at the Ontario Science Centre, where he also outlined a new Grade 9 “destreamed” science curriculum, which combines the previous academic and applied levels with one common curriculum that suits all students.
