Ontario reported 23 more virus-related deaths and a day-over-day rise in hospitalizations on Saturday.
There are currently 1,684 patients with the virus in Ontario hospitals, up from 1,591 yesterday and from 1,130 a week ago.
Health officials say the latest deaths occurred in the past month and four of those fatalities were long-term care home residents. Health officials have also maintained that the daily case count is an underestimate due to limited free PCR testing.
