Ontario reported its lowest number of patients in intensive care in 10 months as hospitalizations also continued to decline on Thursday.
The Ministry of Health says there are 670 patients with the virus in Ontario hospitals, down from 722 yesterday and from 1,005 a week ago.
The ministry says 42 per cent of hospitalized patients were admitted for COVID-19 related reasons and 57 per cent were admitted for other reasons and tested positive. Provincial health officials reported two more virus-related deaths today and say they occurred in the past month. One of the deaths was a long-term care home resident.Ontario labs processed 10,783 tests in the past 24 hours, generating a positivity rate of 7.2 per cent, a low not seen since late February, according to the ministry.
Among the latest cases, 673 of the individuals received three or four doses of a COVID-19 vaccine, 167 received two doses, 113 are partially or unvaccinated and 85 have an unknown vaccination status.
