Ontario reports 28 net new COVID-19 deaths as hospitalizations continue to drop
The Ministry of Health said 26 of the deaths occurred in the last 30 days and two others from earlier were just discovered and added to the total.There have been 139 deaths reported in the past week and 874 in the past month, adding to a total of 12,525 since March 2020.
UHN infectious diseases specialist Dr. Isaac Bogoch told CP24 any decision on when to lift mask mandates should be informed by public health data. “The time isn't right now and of course this is still a fluid area. Is it going to be at the end of March, is it going to be a little later in April, let’s just let the data drive the decision.”
