Police investigating theft from commercial property in French River earlier in August

Ontario Provincial Police at the Nipissing West Detachment are hoping some members of the public might have seen something that can lead police to apprehending thieves who broke into a property in the French River area.

Police were recently called to investigate a mischief incident that occurred on a private commercial property on Houle Road, French River. Officers said it was on Aug. 8, 2023, between the hours of 3 a.m. and 5 a.m. that the thieves arrived at the secured property, parked a vehicle at the main gate and damaged the entrance before entering the property and stealing a supply of scrap metal.

Officers are seeking the public's assistance in identifying the individual involved in this occurrence, said the OPP news release. Anyone having any information regarding this investigation is asked to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122. Should you wish to remain anonymous, you may call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or submit information online at www.ontariocrimestoppers.ca where you may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000.
