The plan “flies in the face of everything we’re trying to do in terms of being better prepared for the impacts of climate change,” the Narwhal quoted Guilbeault as saying.The Narwhal reported that Guilbeault raised the possibility of emergency orders under species-at-risk legislation and the Impact Assessment Act.Article content“This is our jurisdiction,” he said.
Ford said Ottawa’s new immigration targets will mean hundreds of thousands more newcomers to the province each year, and they need somewhere to live. “You can’t complain about not having enough housing for years and then complain when we come up with a solution to do it,” Ford said. A government-commissioned housing affordability task force report said a shortage of land isn’t the cause of the housing crisis.
