Most of the MCU's superheroes have been stuck with aliases that were given to them, but two have managed to create their own superhero monikers.
Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Only two characters in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe have chosen their own superhero names. Since the inception of the MCU with 2008's Iron Man, Marvel Studios has introduced dozens of superheroes into live-action, adapted from the pages of the Marvel Comics source material.
Generally, superhero aliases are necessary for the heroes to retain their secret identities. This hasn't been the case for most of the heroes in the MCU, however, as Marvel Studios has created a world where superheroes are lauded as celebrities both in and out of costume.
In the MCU's Phase 2, Korath's lack of knowledge about Star-Lord in Guardians of the Galaxy's opening moments provided an instant laugh for audiences. This was paid off later on when Korath actually referred to Quill as Star-Lord, and since then, this has only developed further. Tony Stark refers to Quill as Star-Lord in Avengers: Infinity War, and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.
Spider-Man Gave Himself A Name In Captain America: Civil War Tom Holland was introduced in Captain America: Civil War as the highly-anticipated MCU version of Peter Parker, a.k.a. Spider-Man. If it had been left up to his mentor, however, Parker would have gone by the superhero moniker "Spiderling" or "Spider-Boy.
The MCU's Peter Parker has since embraced this title completely, making some incredibly difficult decisions in the wake of Avengers: Endgame. Spider-Man: Far From Home and Spider-Man: No Way Home saw Parker grow up considerably and eventually be left with nobody even remembering who he is. Now that he is actually a young man, Parker can fully operate as Spider-Man in the future of the MCU, retaining his secret identity and protecting the neighborhood under the guise of total anonymity.
