ICYMI: Online reconciliation course aims to help improve understanding
Those with a few hours to spare and an appetite for a more fulsome grasp than is offered in explainer paragraphs written in daily news coverage may be interested in an online course offered through the First Nations University of Canada.
“It speaks to the the relationships that are that are occurring today,” she said during an interview .Bird said the course is designed to be accessible by people of any level of understanding about the events that have shaped Indigenous history in Canada and those interested don’t need to be a university student to take it.
Though she couldn’t provide an exact figure, she approximated that around 100,000 people have already taken the course, which was rolled out “three to four years ago.”“We’re receiving multiple inquiries on a daily basis, not only from Saskatchewan, but from across Canada,” she said, noting that the course has also attracted students from other countries.Article content
