AURORA, Colo. — One person was seriously injured in a shooting involving Aurora police Saturday. No officers were injured.
The Aurora Police Department tweeted that there is a large police presence near East Alameda Ave. and South Galena Way, about a block west of South Havana St., where the shooting took place around 4 p.m. Saturday. Police have released very few details at this time but said one person was transported to the hospital with serious injuries. They said there is no longer an active threat.
Police have closed both directions of East Alameda Ave. in the area as the investigation continues. The Denver Police Department is assisting in the investigation, APD tweeted.
