When that’s the case, you can’t afford to have too many guys slumping at the same time. Four of their go-to forwards and power-play regulars — Lindholm, Mikael Backlund, Andrew Mangiapane and Tyler Toffoli — have combined for zero goals so far on this extended road-trip, while Jonathan Huberdeau and Nazem Kadri have potted one apiece.
There didn’t seem to be a whole lot of chemistry between those three at the start of the season, but it’s certainly worth another shot. During his post-game presser, Sutter explained this shakeup was about upping the ice time for Huberdeau, who has looked more dangerous of late. Coming off a 115-point campaign in Florida, the star left-winger has only nine scoresheet mentions so far in the Flaming C.
