Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT The Great Mothers of Dathomir have entered the scene in Ahsoka, and with them comes the introduction of a sci-fi legend into the Star Wars galaxy. Ahsoka episode 6 debuts many important characters to the live-action scene, most notably Lars Mikkelsen's Grand Admiral Thrawn and Eman Esfandi's Ezra Bridger.
Morgan Elsbeth and the Nightsisters of Dathomir have already proven their grand importance to Ahsoka's brand-new galaxy, but with the Great Mothers cutting a deal with Thrawn on Peridea, there's now even more nuance to it. They play the role of fate in the story of this series, sharing what they see as warnings and guidance for those they have chosen to work with - in this case, Thrawn.
Claudia Black Plays Great Mother Klothow Australian actress Claudia Black is playing Great Mother Klothow, who is very closely tied to the Greek mythological Fate Klotho. If the Great Mother is anything like her Greek counterpart, then she is the one responsible for spinning the thread of a person's life, determining whether a person could be saved or killed. The other two Great Mothers would then take the roles of measuring the thread and cutting it, respectively.
Where You've Seen Claudia Black Before Black has an impressive filmography, but she's most known for her roles as Aeryn Sun in Farscape and Vala Mal Doran in Stargate SG-1. She's also lent her voice to many video games over the years, included Uncharted 2 & 3. Established as a sci-fi legend, it's only fair that Black is now making her Star Wars debut, especially in a role as wondrous and imaginative as one of the Great Mothers of Dathomir.
