Hazard is mostly low to moderate across the Northeast Region
One new fire was confirmed late Tuesday after the the daily report was sent by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry. Sudbury 18 is a 0.5-hectare fire that is being held. It is located on an island on the east side of West Morgan Lake.

Areas of Sudbury, Espanola, and Algonquin Park are showing some spots of high fire hazard.Aviation, Forest Fire and Emergency Services There were no new wildland fires confirmed by the evening of Wednesday, July 17.At the time of this update, there are 15 active wildland fires in the Northeast Region. Cochrane fire management sector has 13 fires; all are being observed. Wawa fire management sector has one fire that is under control.
