Separate crashes on GTA highways left a man dead and put a motorcyclist in hospital on Tuesday morning.In the case of the fatality, a Toronto man died in a two-car collision around 5:30 a.m. on Highway 401’s collector lanes, just south of Pearson Airports, near Renforth Dr.“A 64-year-old man from Toronto was pronounced deceased at the hospital after being transported,” said OPP Sgt.
Schmidt said the motorcyclist was cut off just before 7 a.m. in Hwy. 10’s HOV lanes, near Courtney Park Dr. “A vehicle in the through lanes moved across the double white solid lines directly in front of the path of the motorcyclist, causing a serious collision,” said Schmidt.“Obviously crossing those HOV lanes is an offence and obviously cutting in front of a motorcylist like this can cause significant, serious and even tragic results,” he added. “Please respect the rules of the road.
