New villains debut!

Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT WARNING! Spoilers ahead for Duke #4The G.I. Joe corner of the Energon Universe continues to fill out its ranks, as classic characters from the storied franchise have been making their debut left and right. Duke #4 is no exception, as evidenced by the latest major villain introduced into the new continuity. In this issue, the story of the future Joe team leader’s search for the Transformers continues in explosive style.

Coming from the creative team of Joshua Williamson, Tom Reilly, Jordie Bellaire and Rus Wooton, Duke #4 finds our hero pinned down in the Pit as armed guards sent by M.A.R.S. Industries lay siege to the facility. Thanks to the help of one unlikely ally, Baroness, Duke is able to escape in the Skystriker fighter jet, which he then uses to travel to a remote M.A.R.S. base.

As he approaches a secret M.A.R.S. facility in the arctic, Duke winds up being blown out of the sky by none other than Scrap-Iron, Cobra’s anti-armor specialist. An expert with rockets and other anti-tank weapons, Scrap-Iron takes out Duke’s jet with specialized laser-guided rockets. G.I.

Scrap-Iron’s introduction in Duke #4 pays homage to his original backstory as an employee of Destro’s M.A.R.S. Industries, but his appearance is based on a much more recent source. The G.I. Joe: Classified series of high-quality action figures has been running for a few years now, and the Scrap-Iron seen in the pages of Duke is clearly based on the design used for his Classified figure.

Scrap-Iron Takes Inspiration From His G.I. Joe: Classified Action Figure With Cobra Commander currently at the mercy of the Dreadnoks in his own title, it remains to be seen how all these various characters and factions will come together to form the Cobra terrorist organization. With the Dreadnoks, Destro, Baroness, Major Bludd, Scrap-Iron and the Commander himself all making their Energon Universe debuts, the G.I.
