Japan defeated the United States in an exhibition game 2-0 in September, looking most dangerous in transition. Herdman is expected to play as many of expected starting lineup against Japan as he plans on using against Belgium in the opener.
“We’re just assessing Stephen Eustaquio, at this moment in time,” Herdman said. “Steph is going through some assessments after leaving training today and there are things that we’ll be looking at tomorrow. We have to make a decision on whether we need to risk him for this game, or whether he’ll be ready for some minutes.”Article content
