Monday morning shooting on Cushman Street in Fairbanks
The driver has been identified as 57-year-old Anchorage resident Amos Lane. Next of kin has been notified.
According to a dispatch report issued by the Alaska State Troopers , at 2:55 a.m., AST entered a chase with a 2011 Ford sedan near the Mitchell Expressway and Airport Road, ending the chase when conditions became unsafe. AST and Fairbanks Police Department pursued the sedan to 23rd Avenue and Cushman Street, forcing the vehicle to stop at around 9:15 a.m.
AST and FPD fired their duty weapons at the driver when he failed to follow commands, fatally wounding him.
