Two men shot about 40 minutes apart early Saturday
NEW ORLEANS - Two overnight shootings left one man dead and another man wounded early Saturday , New Orleans police said.
The homicide occurred at 12:46 a.m. in the 3100 block of St. Roch Avenue. The NOPD said a man shot several times on the neutral ground there was pronounced dead at the scene but provided no details on the circumstances of the fatal shooting.About 40 minutes later, another man was shot, in the 700 block of South Salcedo Street, about three blocks from NOPD headquarters and Criminal District Court.
Police said this victim was shot in the shoulder by an “unknown suspect” at 1:26 a.m. and taken for hospital treatment by New Orleans EMS personnel. His age and condition have not been disclosed.
