Police investigate a shooting Sunday night in the Quintana community on the South Side. An 18-year-old was killed and a 45-year-old was injured in the shooting.SAN ANTONIO — An 18-year-old man is dead and another is injured after an unknown assailant shot them near a “car meet” Sunday.
Both men were at Dunton Street and Afcoms Way in the Quintana community on the South Side to watch several cars “doing donuts” around 9 p.m. when the gunshots were fired, according to preliminary information from the San Antonio Police Department. A 45-year-old man went to aid the 18-year-old who had been shot. Then several more shots were fired, one of which struck the 45-year-old in the lower extremity.The victims are unrelated, said police, who described the older man as “simply a good Samaritan” trying to help the teenager. The older man was taken to a hospital for surgery and is in stable condition.
