'It was a nice moment'

At the time the record was set, Letlow admitted she didn’t realize what she had done because she was more focused on her team’s play than any individual success. “I received a few messages from my family and a couple of friends and that’s when I realized I had done what I set out to do,” said Letlow. “In the moment, all you can focus on is the game. It was a nice moment when I realized.”2. Carolina Del Santo, UPEI – 2018-19 – 2655. Carolyn Wares, DAL – 1996-97 – 2478. Kiyara Letlow, CBU – 2021-22 – 235*Record as of Feb.
To date, through 18 games, Letlow currently has 277 rebounds. She will look to add to that total this weekend when Cape Breton wraps up the regular season with games against the Saint Mary’s Huskies and Dalhousie Tigers on Friday and Saturday in Halifax.“I knew she could rebound, but I didn’t know she could rebound like this,” said McKenzie. “I didn’t know she’d have the impact that she’s had on the team.
“I’m not the new kid on the block anymore, everyone seems to know who I am and they’re double and triple teaming me every game,” said Letlow. “It’s been difficult to figure out how to score when I have that much pressure on me, but it’s been a great learning curve.
