Former Rep. John Delaney on legalizing marijuana: “I think the federal government should get out of the way and let that movement continue. Because right now the federal government is blocking it by keeping marijuana as a scheduled substance” CNNTownHall
Former Rep. John Delaney said Sunday that he supports the federal government getting out of the way of states that want to legalize or decriminalize marijuana, adding that he believes the drug should be re-scheduled on the federal level.
Former Rep. John Delaney explained his criticism of the progressive-backed Green New Deal on Sunday, arguing that climate change is so critical it needs realistic solutions, not something that can’t be achieved. Delaney had previously said that the Green New Deal was “as realistic as Trump saying that Mexico is going to pay for the wall.”Former Maryland Rep. John Delaney wants universal health care, but he said a government-only solution is"not the right answer."
That changed at the outset of his CNN town hall, when Delaney, who is worth millions and formerly ran two publicly traded companies, responded to a question on his wealth by noting his upbringing. “For someone who, in many ways, is from the other side of the tracks and has to fight for everything I have gotten, you learn to be as professional as possible because that is what you have to do," he said.John Delaney has been running for president for almost two years -- he was the first Democrat to announce his campaign way back in 2017.
