The Olympics opening ceremonies will, for the first time, be held on a river, in the open Paris air.
It's official: Two musical icons will be Olympic opening ceremony performers when the events take place in Paris on July 26. On July 25, it was confirmed that Celine Dion , making her way back into the spotlight after taking time off to deal with her Stiff Person Syndrome, will join Lady Gaga for a duet of Édith Piaf’s “La Vie en Rose,” per The Guardian.
' This isn't the first Celine Dion Olympics appearance, either: She was one of the Olympic opening ceremony performers in 1996 at the Games in Atlanta, where she sang “The Power of a Dream.” Rumors of a Lady Gaga Olympics appearance were a little less…subtle. The American pop star was seen aboard a floating piano on the Seine, which is kind of like the biggest hint there is.
