A female security guard was wounded inside the Walmart Supercenter in Olympia Fields Saturday morning.

Medical personnel from the hospital later told police that the wound to the woman's head was not from a gunshot, Olympia Fields Police Chief Blasingame said in a news conference Saturday afternoon.Originally, police believed the woman was shot, however, after evaluation, it is believed the woman hurt her head during the incident.
Police believe this to be an isolated incident, and do not believe there is a threat to the community.Illinois State Representative Debbie Meyers-Martin released the following statement following the call of shots fired: Our thoughts and prayers are with the female employee who was wounded in this tragedy. We are all steadfast in our hearts that she survives her injuries and makes a full recovery."
