In 2021, Olivia was the top girl name in Ohio with 534 children, and Charlotte was No. 2, with 521 children. Liam was the top boy name in 2020 at 616 children, and Oliver ranked second at 588 names.
Theodore jumped to No. 5 from No. 12 in 2021, thanks to 513 children bearing the name, compared to 412 in 2021. Sophia jumped to No. 4 for girls, with 419 children having the name. However, even though Sophia was ranked No. 7 in 2021, more children - 420 - were given the name then. The Social Security Administration has been recording names on birth certificates since 1880 and began compiling the baby names list in 1997.
