'If I could do it over again I would.' Duncan Keith admitted that he regrets not participating in Jenner & Block's independent investigation into sexual assault allegations against former Blackhawks coach Brad Aldrich.

"If I could do it over again I would," Keith said, adding the call came shortly after he was traded from Chicago to Edmonton."But at the same time, my feeling was I didn't have anything to give so I didn't think it would help, but I should have sat there for the interview."

Keith was one of 37 people contacted by Jenner & Block who chose to not participate in the investigation process. In total, 139 people -- including current and former players, executives, coaches and other employees of both the Blackhawks and AHL's Rockford Icehogs -- were interviewed during the investigation.

The former Blackhawks defenceman was part of the 2009-10 Stanley Cup-winning team, the same year Aldrich was alleged to have sexually assaulted Kyle Beach. Speaking Monday, Keith said that seeing Beach reveal himself to be John Doe in an interview with TSN last week was"heartbreaking." "It was tough to watch. You feel compassion for Kyle and it's tough to imagine the pain he's going through now," Keith said."Obviously, the courage that he showed in being able to speak about it, it's just so much admiration for him. And I hope he's able to find some peace, if he hasn't already."
