Connor McDavid records 150th point, becomes sixth NHLer to do so
The Edmonton Oilers superstar registered his 150th point of the season, recording two points in the opening frame against the San Jose Sharks on Saturday, giving him 150 for the first time in his career.
McDavid is the first player to hit the 150-point barrier since Mario Lemieux had 160 points with Pittsburgh during the 1995-96 season. He’s 27 points clear of Leon Draisaitl, who entered Saturday’s contest with 51 goals and 123 points with the Oilers. McDavid has led the NHL in scoring the past two years and is the clear favorite to win the Hart Trophy for the 2022-23 campaign. This is McDavid’s sixth year with at least 100 points, but just the first time with 60-plus goals.
