A ministry spokesperson says a decision has not been made on whether to fine or charge First Student for the spill of waste motor oil
Excavation of contaminated soil is expected to begin this week at the site of a waste motor oil spill discovered a few weeks ago on city property adjacent to Fort Creek.
"Once identified, [the Public Works] team proceeded to build a berm around the site to ensure the oil like substance did not spread any further," Girardi said in an email to SooToday on Tuesday. SooToday visited the site on Monday and noticed the tank had been removed from the side of the First Student building.Wheeler said a decision has not been made whether to fine or charge the company for the spill.
