Marvin Harrison Jr. is going up against the best secondary he'll have played so far this year.
Marvin Harrison Jr. reaches for a pass in last year's game against Notre Dame.COLUMBUS, Ohio — At least for a few more weeks, there won’t be a more difficult challenge presented for Ohio State’s wide receivers than Notre Dame’s secondary.
But in particular, sophomore cornerback Benjamin Morrison is one of the best cornerbacks on the Buckeyes’ schedule. And he has the potential to slow things down for their explosive offense.“I’ve had my fair share of matchups throughout my career — especially last year with some good corners,” he said. “What you realize is that it’s a team game. Rarely is it the whole game with a one-on-one matchup.
But one of the likely reasons he’s not particularly worried about any matchup is that Ohio State isn’t game-planning around a plan for Notre Dame where Morrison follows Harrison around the entire game. “No, but we’re going to do what we do, but at the same time he’s a very good corner,” Day said. “Good cover skills. Competitive. Good change of direction. Runs well. He’s very talented.”
Morrison, who had a standout freshman season at Notre Dame a season ago, was named a Freshman All-American .BET $5, GET $200 BONUS BETS & $100 OFF NFL SUNDAY TICKET
