Officials are investigating the death of an unidentified man found on Lake Michigan’s shoreline early Saturday at Fort Sheridan Forest Preserve. Police requested the help of the Lake County Major Crime Task Force due to the injuries on the man’s body.

Highland Park police were alerted shortly after 5 a.m. to the area of 117 Sheridan Road for a report of an unconscious man at the shoreline, according to a Lake County Major Crime Task Force news release.The location of the incident was determined to be the Fort Sheridan Forest Preserve in unincorporated Lake Forest, the release said.Lake County Forest Preserve Police requested the help of the Lake County Major Crime Task Force due to the injuries on the man’s body.

Officials said there are no indications there is a threat to the community. The death was under investigation.
