Philadelphia police officials have provided an update after an officer died from a medical emergency in South Philadelphia on Friday evening.
On Saturday afternoon, officials said that the officer who died was Lynneice Hill, a 44-year-old who was assigned to the city's 3rd police district.According to police, Hill was spotted before 9 p.m. on Friday by witnesses who found her unresponsive in a patrol vehicle.Sign up for NBC Philadelphia newsletters.
At the time, officials said, Hill was on an overtime assignment on the 1800 block of Christopher Columbus Boulevard, the TJ Maxx and Homegoods parking lot. Investigators said that witnesses on the scene called 9-1-1 and officers who responded to the scene attempted CPR.
