Drone and K9 tracks being conducted in the community after suspect fled the scene of the collision early Tuesday morning

If you noticed a large police presence in Copper Cliff this morning, officers were on scene to locate a man involved in a hit-and-run motor vehicle collision in the area.The suspect fled on foot after the collision, which occurred just after 7 a.m. Aug. 22 at the intersection of Municipal Road 55 and Power Street. One lane was closed temporarily, but the road was completely reopened as of 11:30 a.m.

Officers have so far been unable to locate the suspect, but the investigation is ongoing. Police said there is no threat to public safety.
