The majority of Filipinos continue to trust and have expressed satisfaction with the performance of the Philippine National Police (PNP), according to the 2023 first-quarter survey taken by the independent group OCTA Research.

Based on OCTA’s independent and non-commissioned poll “Tugon ng Masa” survey conducted from March 24 to 28, at least eight out of 10 Filipinos, or 80% nationwide have continued to trust the PNP, while only 5% lacked trust in the organization and 15% said they are “ambivalent over the trustworthiness of the police force.”

It said the age group of 25 to 44 has the highest trust rating in the police force with 86%, followed by the seniors aged 75 and above with 56%, aged 55 to 64 with 10%, and aged 18 to 24 with 9%. Nine out of 10 in Visayas and Mindanao respondents or 87% are satisfied with the PNP’s performance, while 65% are in NCR, it said.
