A news article describes the unexpected interaction between former President Barack Obama and President-elect Donald Trump at the funeral of George HW Bush. The author reflects on the event, highlighting the contrast between Trump's cordial approach and the animosity expressed by some of Trump's critics.
The best part? Former President Barack Obama and President-elect Donald Trump talked for a long time, even laughing with each other. Trump is in hospitality and can talk to anybody, furthermore making you think you’re the most important person in the room. Trump also has a Don Rickles sense of humor with which to amuse you, with some ironic observation that covers the situation. As Yogi Berra is credited with saying, “Always go to other people’s funerals. Otherwise, they won’t come to yours.
” Watch for lefty friends on Facebook who make posts with a photos of a smiling Trump and a serious looking Obama, and how inappropriate it is for Trump to be there taking things so casually. A few years ago, after George HW Bush’s funeral, one of my old roommates posted a photo of Trump sitting with his arms crossed at the Cathedral and commented how classless he was. When I found a photo on the web of Obama in the same pose at the same funeral (after a 20 second search), my old roommate unfriended me. I learned to be polite to people who wanted to put me out of business, whom I encountered every year of my career. Trump knows how to be polite to his enemies. Pity that his enemies know only how to be bitter, angry, divisive, obnoxious, liars.Weird to see Obama yucking it up with the guy he said was literally going to usher in the 4th Reich. It’s almost as if Obama didn’t really believe what he was claiming about Trump
