Andrew Berry is charged with the murders of his six-year-old daughter, Chloe, and his four-year-old daughter, Aubrey, at his Beach Drive apartment on Christmas Day
A second firefighter has rejected defence suggestions that Andrew Berry said “Tried to kill me” or “Don’t kill me” when first responders came to his aid on the evening of Christmas Day 2017.
On the way to the apartment, they learned there were two dead children and one seriously injured man inside. Acting Lieut. Bradley Trenholm was already there, crouched over Berry. As Brown came in, Trenholm stood and gave Brown a quick rundown of Berry’s injuries — lacerations to the chest and throat and trauma to the right eye.The firefighter touched Berry’s knee and called him by his name a few times.“Initially, he moaned, then : ‘Leave me.’ Then he repeated comments of ‘Leave me. Kill me. Leave me alone.’ I stated that we were not going to do that. We were here to help him.
