O'Mara's late goal puts G-Hawks on cusp of OJHL final
Two Prince Edward County Junior hockey teams are on the ropes after losses Wednesday night.
For the first time in the OJHL South-East Conference final, the home team was a winner and that has moved the Trenton Golden Hawks within one game of the Championship round. Adam O’Mara broke a 2 all tie with 26 seconds left in regulation as the G-Hawks scored two unanswered goal in the third to rally for a 3-2 win over the Wellington Dukes and a commanding 3-1 lead in the series.
It was O’Mara’s second of the game. Matt Cato tied the game at 10:34 of the third period and assisted on the winner. He says they saved their best for last.
