New York City is set to implement a new law nicknamed 'Flaco's Law' that will provide rats with birth control in an effort to reduce their population. The bill, introduced by Councilman Shaun Abreu, aims to use a compound that targets ovarian functions in female rats and sperm production in males, ultimately preventing reproduction.

The bill, 'Flaco's Law,' aims to reduce rat reproduction without poison. Rats are gaining birth control while humans face barriers in reproductive healthcare.poison, as the city has done for decades, “doesn’t get us far,” Abreu said.
