The National Women’s Soccer League found “no violation of league policy,” the league said Wednesday
The National Women’s Soccer League previously investigated “reports of misconduct” in the San Diego Wave FC front office and found “no violation of league policy,” the league said Wednesday., when the club’s former videographer posted a four-page statement on social media claiming more than 30 employees have resigned or been fired since the Wave’s inception in June 2021.
“The NWSL has previously received reports of misconduct in the San Diego front office,” said a league statement issued Wednesday. “Those reports were investigated by an independent third party and we are satisfied with the results, including the finding that there was no violation of league policy in connection with the reported conduct.
The Sirens, the Wave’s main supporter group, issued a statement Wednesday after meeting with both team and league officials. They said the league investigation was conducted between February and April, noting that the Wave hired a new director of human resources in April. The Wave next play July 20 against Bay FC at Torero Stadium. The match is part of the Summer Cup, a tournament held during the NWSL’s Olympic break.
