The number of hospital patients with Covid is steadily rising across Nottinghamshire
as the UK's infection rate increased by 30 per cent in a week. The number of cases in the country jumped by more than half a million, with the rise likely to be driven by the latest Omicron variants BA.4 and BA.5, Office for National Statistics figures show.
On Thursday, June 28, they accounted for 151 beds across Queen's Medical Centre and City Hospital. Just two critical care beds were being occupied by covid patients on the same day.
