EXCLUSIVE — Keeping with the Halloween spirit, the National Republican Congressional Committee delivered a postman costume to House Democratic Conference Chairman Pete Aguilar’s office after he was dubbed “Post Office Pete” by Rep. Kevin McCarthy .
While on the House floor nominating Rep. Jim Jordan for speaker of the House, McCarthy hit Aguilar for only having one bill signed into law in his years in Congress, a post office in California. “I guess that’s good enough to be caucus chair,” McCarthy said.
“It may be a Halloween costume, but the least effective legislator in House Democratic leadership history, Post Office Pete Aguilar, can wear this uniform year-round,” NRCC national press secretary Will Reinert said.
