Of all the things the Arizona Cardinals need to prove in 2022, few are more important than Kyler Murray dealing with the pressure of his new deal.
Prove that they can finish a season strong after starting it hot.
It's a pressure situation. Murray has led his team to the postseason but hasn't won a playoff game. The Cardinals have given him the money and the team around him to maximize Murray's talent and ability. Now his challenge is to justify all of it with dynamic play and victories. And those ubiquitous player rankings that didn't rate Murray highly can certainly add fuel to Murray's fire.
"He gets, it too. So there's, you know, that chip on the shoulder. You know that we obviously want to prove everybody wrong and prove ourselves right," Murray said. After that and a bout with COVID, Murray ultimately was held out of preseason game action. When the Cardinals reconvene for practice Monday, Week 1 of the regular season will have arrived, and Murray's work begins in earnest.
