Sault police on the hunt for new constables, special constables, and civilian staff
The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service says it is currently looking for new recruits interested in a career in policing.“We’ve hired former teachers, pilots, social workers, construction workers, project managers, IT professionals, and beyond who all bring valuable perspectives, skills, and life experiences to our service,” says Inspector Ben Bolduc, Corporate Development and Emergency Management, in a news release.
“While many of our officers have an education related to policing or come from a law enforcement background, other life experiences are also an asset,” says Inspector Ben Bolduc, Corporate Development and Emergency Management. Many officers start their careers as Special Constables. Currently, duties in this role include courthouse and prisoner security, electronic fingerprinting, serving legal documents, and various other responsibilities. Sault Police anticipate this role to expand to prepare for future needs of the service.
