Yarmouth Rural RCMP responded to a missing child report at 11:25 p.m. on Aug. 19 after a 10-year-old child had yet to return from an ATV ride in the Canaan area. The child was found deceased around 1:30 a.m. in Gavelton. Yarmouth Rural RCMP responded to a missing child report just before 11:30 p.m. on Aug. 19 after the youth, who was visiting the area with their family, had left a house on an ATV earlier in the evening and had yet to come home. Around 1:30 a.m. on Aug. 20, officers located the deceased child and the all-terrain vehicle they were driving was found in a ditch along Plymouth Gentian Road in Gavelton.
