Nova Scotia pharmacists will be able to provide more health-care services as part of a new pilot project launching at 12 pharmacies on Wednesday, Feb. 1. 123RF STOCK PHOTOHALIFAX, N.S. — Nova Scotia is launching a new pilot program allowing pharmacists to see patients with common illnesses and prescribe and manage more medications.
The clinics will also offer diagnosis and treatment for strep throat, a service not previously available through pharmacies. "Pharmacists are highly trained healthcare professionals," Thompson said in a release."We're building and testing a system where they can use all their training and skills to give people the care they need in a place that's often the closest place to home - their pharmacy.
