According to the union, Bernardo was transferred to medium-security La Macaza Institution near Mont-Tremblant on Monday.
Bernardo, 58, was convicted in 1995 of the murders of Tammy Homolka, Kristen French and Leslie Mahaffy. His wife at the time,Karla Homolka served the final years of her sentence in the Joliette Institution, a federal penitentiary. “We don’t know why. Why didn’t they keep this guy in Ontario? He doesn’t even speak French. We don’t even know what the hell he’s doing in Quebec.”
