On July 9, 2,000 people filled the University of Toronto’s Goldring Centre for the CCYAA Celebrity Classic, headlined by Simu Liu, star of Marvel’s “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings,” and former Raptor Jeremy Lin.
NBA superstars Dominique Wilkins and Jamaal Magloire and Charles Melton of TV’s “Riverdale” were just a few of the notables on hand for the charity basketball game, presented by Virgin Plus, which raised $50,000 to support the Jeremy Lin Foundation and a new community centre for the Chinese Canadian Youth Athletics Association.
