'Not angry, only sad': Family of pedestrian killed on Deerfoot Trail appeals for driver to come forward yyc
Investigators say she was struck by “one or more vehicles,” and that at least one vehicle believed to have struck the pedestrian did not remain at the scene.Police appealed to the public for information, including dashboard camera footage, in the immediate aftermath of the death, and renewed that request Wednesday.
“To be honest, I really don’t care about the consequences at the moment. I want to give some sort of closure to the family who are grieving for the loss of their daughter. Foster said police know why the pedestrian was on Deerfoot Trail at the time of the collision, but said he couldn’t comment on the reason.“From my own experience, people know when they’ve been involved in a collision. From the noise, the way the vehicle will react, all that type of thing. There’s no doubt in my mind that the people who hit the pedestrian know they hit her,” Foster said.
He said investigators are seeking dashcam footage from anyone driving northbound on Deerfoot Trail through the area around the time of the crash.
