Umpire training session to be held in Terrace on Apr. 20 and 21
With this membership, association president Kam Siemens said athletes locally and from the region will have wider opportunities including high performance training, coaching training, and tournament participation.
With currently four registered teams of Terrace, Kitimat, Thornhill, and Prince Rupert, the Northwest BC Cricket Association is aiming to spread out and include a team from Smithers. The total construction cost of the pitch is around $20,000 through a Northern Development Initiative grant received by the Kitimat-Stikine regional district which is responsible for the Thornhill Community Grounds.
“The agricultural ground has a dedicated budget of $3,000 and it can also access some of the general maintenance budget of $16,958 and for wages there is a separate budget under Thornhill Parks and Recreations ,” Siemens stated.
