Accused was in possession of 91 grouse, 76 over his legal possession limit of 15
Allan Pascoe of Cobalt pleaded guilty to unlawfully possessing an over-limit of grouse and obstructing conservation officers.
He was fined a total of $5,000. Pascoe also received a lifetime ban from possessing, applying for, or obtaining a hunting licence and cannot take part in any activity that requires a hunting licence. The court heard that on December 19, 2022, New Liskeard conservation officers executed a search warrant on Pasco’s residence.
Officers were obstructed from entering the residence for over an hour. Once they gained access, they found two large boxes of frozen grouse hidden in the shower.Justice of the Peace Jean-Marie Blier heard the case in the Ontario Court of Justice, Haileybury, on March 2, 2023.
