Northern Ontario Families of Children with Cancer (NOFCC) announces a three-year, $150,000 partnership with the Masonic Foundation of Ontario to launch the Welcome Home Package, providing $1,000 each to families at treatment completion or relapse to ease their transition back home. Funded entirely by supporters, NOFCC relies on community-driven initiatives to deliver 27 financial and emotional support programs across Ontario's northern regions.
Northern Ontario Families of Children with Cancer has announced a three-year, $150,000 partnership with the Masonic Foundation of Ontario.
“This transformative investment provides critical stability and ensures continuity of care for families who depend on NOFCC’s services,” said a press release. The partnership will enable the creation of the Welcome Home Package. This program will give each family $1,000 at the end of treatment or relapse treatment, which is meant to help their transition from hospital to home after many months away.
As an organization that receives no government funding, NOFCC relies entirely on the compassion and commitment of supporters and fundraisers to deliver 27 programs. These programs provide essential financial relief and emotional support to families living within Ontario’s vast “P” postal code region who are navigating the profound challenges of childhood cancer, said a press release “For families already burdened by travel, treatment, and uncertainty, this support is not simply helpful — it is essential,” said the press release.
NOFCC thanked several organizations for their support, including the Masonic Foundation of Ontario, Regional Canada Pageant, Miners for Cancer, A-5 District Lion’s Club, John Carl MacIsaac Foundation, PEO, Sudbury Charities Foundation, Desjardins, Ontario Power Generation and UCDA.
