The Times-Union recognizes Oakleaf boys soccer's Khiende May-Parker as the high school Athlete of the Week for Jan. 30-Feb. 4, and opens the new poll.
The senior midfielder scored eight goals and an assist, including seven in one game against Keystone Heights, as the Bulldogs beat Keystone 9-1 and Tallahassee Maclay 4-0 in the Class 3A playoffs.The junior led the Warriors with singles and doubles victories in opening-week wins against Yulee and Union County.
The senior guard scored a team-high 19 points with four rebounds and three steals to lead the Stallions in their Class 3A first-round 58-46 win against Bradford.The state-ranked senior won his matchup by fall in the 182-pound division, helping the Golden Eagles to a 55-16 win over Clay in the annual Uncivil War rivalry.Playing at No. 1 singles and doubles, the freshman swept all four of her matches to lead the Toros in season-opening wins over Clay and Matanzas.
