North Texas will have three new House members come January as a result of the 2022 midterm elections.
In contrast, Nathaniel Moran presents himself as a more traditional conservative who hopes to change the tone of Washington.
“If we can take the values of freedom and fiscal responsibility that are kind of inherent and deeply rooted in East Texas values, and promulgate those on the national level, then our country will be in a much better state and be headed in a much better direction,” Moran said. He said Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and Chinese overreach are among the top threats to the United States. He supported the initial bipartisan aid for Ukraine and said Congress should continue to stand against Russia.
He said the House select committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol is a “political witch hunt” and that he believes there was widespread fraud in the 2020 elections. But he also said Congress should move on and focus on ensuring future elections are secure.
